Summary / Role Purpose

Ansys is seeking an engineering intern to support research and development activities targeting applications of automotive sensors, primarily radar, for automated driving.

Key Duties And Responsibilities
  • Develop and integrate radar signal post processing algorithms to demonstrate the core value of physics-based simulation.
  • Collect and consolidate feedback from direct report and stakeholders to validate new concepts and drive activities that deliver or generate value for customers.
  • Operate autonomously and think outside of the box to find solutions when encountered with technical problems.
  • Support and contribute to toolchains that automate solutions around Ansys technology.
  • Challenge assumptions and innovate while working closely with Ansys experts to realize the value of Ansys technology.
  • Present solutions to colleagues and customers if needed.
  • Contribute to the Ansys community by documenting success and sharing ideas.

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements And Experience
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, or related fields with a minimum accumulated experience of 1 year.
  • A solid understanding of the basic principles of electromagnetic fields, CW and FMCW radars.
  • Experience in radar signal post processing and micro-Doppler effects.
  • Solid knowledge and demonstrated expertise in a high-level object-oriented programming language such as Python and/or C++.
  • Experience in modeling and simulation, namely radar sensor models and driving simulators.
  • Ability to describe complex technical concepts to a range of audiences.
  • Ability to work in an agile environment with a cross-functional team.

Preferred Qualifications And Skills
  • Fluent in English and one additional European language (German, French, Italian)
  • Knowledge of Linux operating system.
  • Knowledge in the automotive industry and automotive supply-chain, particularly as related to sensors for ADAS and automated driving.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand product requirements and translate these into an execution plan that delivers value and meets business goals.
  • Ability to drive success and foster teamwork.
