Job Description

This role acts as the Global Compliance Office point of contact and subject matter expert for the execution and monitoring of AML/ATF reporting, risk assessment, quality assurance and other compliance functions as needed while providing detailed analysis to measure the performance of the program and inform the Global AML/ATF compliance strategy. They also act as the Secretariat for the Global Compliance Office meetings, records management and Learning Activities.

Specific Duties Include

Reporting/Analytics
  • Administers and independently coordinates periodic, quarterly and annual AML/ATF reporting exercises within the Global Compliance Office (e.g., with respect to Sanctions and Terrorist Screening, suspicious transaction reporting, large cash reporting, ad hoc requests, etc.), and provides succinct and accurate aggregate reporting in an easily digestible format for review by Compliance, Executive Management and the Board of Directors;
  • Participates in the design or modification of reporting requirements and processes so as to facilitate accurate and useful data collection, while reducing the resourcing impact of reporting tasks on the Territories to the extent possible (mandate to reduce duplicative reporting requests); and
  • Goes beyond collecting and aggregating risk assessment and reporting information, looking deeper into reporting to gain insight into (a) emerging risks and (b) the effectiveness of Territorial and Regional AML/ATF controls; creatively seeks new sources of existing or readily available information that can inform analytic efforts and generate new insights.
  • Perform any other types of regular reporting (e.g., Quarterly Procurement Reporting) as needed
Risk Assessment
  • Coordinates and aids in the quality control review of the Annual Global AML Risk Assessment exercise;
  • Works with the Segment Heads of AML Compliance and their delegates to maintain and document an ongoing view of AML/ATF risk in each Territory / Business Unit, including whether such risk is trending up or down;
  • Designs and administers ad hoc risk assessment exercises in response to specific concerns, e.g., industry trends or matters arising from Internal Audits or Regulatory Reviews; and
Effectiveness Testing, Monitoring and Reporting
  • Global Compliance Office initial point of escalation for the review and monitoring of Segment quality assurance and audits; with their associated outstanding issues; and
  • Executes on quality assurance reviews of centralized functions as detective controls. (e.g. system assessment and regression testing)
Center(Centre) of Expertise
  • Provides other support to the Global Chief Anti-money laundering officer with respect: to the assessment and execution of centralized policy, standards and guidance; and
  • Provides support for the review and potential execution of AML training programs; and
  • Maintains libraries of key reference material and official records to support the execution of the programs; and
  • Administers, performs regulatory analysis and supports the ongoing assessment of country risk
Adhoc Assignments
  • Perform adhoc assignments as needed. For example, assistance may be required relating to a Regulatory request/examination

Job Requirements (Knowledge/Skills/Competencies):
  • Good interpersonal skills to plan, execute and take ownership on assignments with multiple teams and regions, creative and open minded, willingness to learn and adaptive to change
  • Proven experience in Compliance / Legal / Audit
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite of products including MS Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Moderate to advanced training in MS Excel including using formulas, macros and report formatting is strongly preferred
  • Fluent in English, with knowledge in other languages (reading and writing) will be a good asset; strong English-language writing skills are strongly preferred
  • Flexible and adaptable when dealing with change with a strong awareness and understanding of cultural diversity
  • Ability to work independently under pressure and make prompt decisions in a fast-paced environment
Education/Professional Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Legal, Finance, Business or related fields
  • Professional knowledge in Compliance, Legal, or Audit’
  • 4-6 years working experience in the Insurance, Asset Management, Banking or Financial Services
  • Regulatory compliance management and reporting knowledge and experience
Preferred
  • Anti-Money Laundering compliance program participation or program management experience
